Licence free cruising
With France Afloat all of our boats can be piloted without any personal licence or previous experience. We were one of the first companies in France to be recognised as a certified hirer allowing us to issue you with a licence for the duration of your cruise.
On your arrival our experienced team will complete your paperwork, explain the operation of boat and all its functions, and then take you for a short cruise to ensure that you are familiar with the operation of the boat, how to moor and how to complete a lock passage. Once you and the instructor are satisfied, we will issue you with a licence and you will be underway on your voyage of discovery.
This period of instruction is also an opportunity to discuss your cruise, the places to visit, restaurants to eat at, and wines to taste etc. All our staff are happy to answer any questions you may have concerning the boat and its operation, and/or regarding local tourism. Our goal is to make your cruise as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
